Janine's Testimony - M4 Miracle

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

As you all know I had an ancident on 9 December 2005 or more correctly the accident happended around me. I am very blessed to have come out of it with the injuries that I did. For those of you who do not know the full story here goes.
It was a Friday afternoon, (I normally finish work at 2pm on a Friday) and I was excited about the weekend and climbed into my car, and as always higway radio was playing (Highway radio is a christian radio station in Durban - 101.5 fm- I love it) and off I went singing loudly and foolishly as usual. I am a creature of habit and to this day still drive the same way every day, so that if anything happens everyone knows where to find me. Well it was very busy as it usually is on a Friday, but unusually so as it was also the end of the year and all the trucks were racing to get into the depo's before closing time. Anyway there I was still singing madly in my car, in the slow lane, just past the Titren road / M7 intersection when I see a petrol tanker stopped in the lane infront of me. So I come to a stop and start checking my mirrors to see if I can move into the the middle lane and at the same time reached to press my hazard light (never got there). While checking my review mirror I see 2 trucks comming straight for me, and I know there is nothing I can do, I know what is going to happen. I immediately handed it over to God, saying Lord there is nothing I can do I hand this situation over to you (all in my head), and I immideatly get an answer from God, not a audible answer but a voice in my heart, saying "Janine, it's going to be alright, sit still I have you in the palm of my hand". Well at this point I feel such amazing peace, there is just no way to describe it, I completely trusted God and knew that all was fine, there was NO FEAR AT ALL. What an amazing place to be, and what a priveledge to know my father in heaven for what he is, my help in times of need, my protector and the father of all.
I saw the truck behind the one directly behind me (in my review mirror), slam into the truck directly behind me and then I closed my eyes and did as my father in heaven told me to do, BE STILL, and I felt the motion of the truck go over me. How faithfull is God he says in Jeremiah that if we call on him he is faithfull to answer Jeremiah 33:3 (New International Version)

3 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Wow, how great is that? You know that in the bible it tells us that we are in this world but once we become sons and daughters of God and give our lives over to Jesus Christ then we are now citizens of heaven and become the children of God adopted into his family, and he will never leave us nor forsake us, he can't abandon us like people can, he is our one constant who will never fail us he is our strong tower in times of need. And just because we are his children does not mean that bad things will not happen to us, remember John 15:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)

19 If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection and would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world [no longer one with it], but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you. So you see we in the world but not of it, we are subject to what happens here, but we have a promise from God that although we are not exempt for the perils of this world that he will carry us through them he is there to hold us in the palm of his hand and carry us through the storm. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." How amazing is that!!

Anyway after I feel the motion come to a stop, do you know that I felt nothing but motion, the only way I can describe it is as if you are on a swing, all you feel is the motion. So I open my eyes and wait for the dust and smoke to settle. I see a african man standing on the verge looking down into the canal, I assume he was looking for me or my vehicle. I was able to pull my right arm partially out and started waving and shouting to him to get me out. He turned around and must have got quite a fright because my vehicle was totally crushed under the truck, (the number plate of the truck was a few centimeters away from my face) and all he could see of me was a hand and a bit of face (if that), I'm sure he was thinking where is the rest of her. The look on his face was quite commical and if not for the situation I would have laughed. He had his cell phone in his hand and had obviously called emergency services which is 10111. Emergency services "Netcare 911" was there in moments. I will get Craig Botha the paramedic who saw to me to write his story for you to read. He was amazing really calm and considering what he was looking at that is quite a thing. He was on his hands and knees to get to me and wanted to give me morphine for pain, but I did not need it because I had no pain. I remember having to tell the fire fighteres who were using the jaws of life to try to extricate me from the wreckage, where to cut because there just was no space. The one thing that I do recall is how tight my seatbelt was holding me, it was so tight that they battled to get a knife blade in to cut it, so the just kept on nicking it for who knows how long (it was long) until it came loose. The seatbelt is the reason the I never flew out the window and down the ravine, but it is also the reason that I had a fractured pelvis in 3 places, which I did not know until x-rays in the emergency room. I remember right in the begining telling him to contact my mom and let her know that I was alright and that I did not want her there. Knowing my mom she would also need an ambulance once she saw the scene. My mom phoned our friend Johanna who is a detective at Brighton Beach police, and she was there on the scene very quickly. She put her face there and said something like "hey Jin, I'm here." She was amazing, never left my side and even went in the ambulance with me to the hospital all the while holding my hand and being such an encouragement. It took them nearly 2 hours to cut me out. To give you some perspective, there was no drivers side of the car left, my drivers seat was on the passenger seat and the whole vehicle from front to back was less than 1m. Isn't God amazing, he did exactly what he promised he held me in the palm of his hand and took the brunt of the impact, he never left me not once and I can say that he is still with me and will never leave me. It is us who choose to put God in a box and give him restrictions, when all he wants is the best for us. If only we will give ourselves to him completely and let me mould us into what he created us to be. Isaiah 64:8 (New International Version)

8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

I was in hospital for 4 days with a laseration to my forhead, nerve damage to my left arm, my fractured pelvis as metioned earlier and various cuts and bruises. Well I had no medical aid so was taken to King Edward hospital. It was great there, although there is a shortage of staff and equipment they treated me so well. I have been to physio as I could not walk for a while after the accident, and was released from the bone clinic in February this year. No more hospital visits for my pelvis. That is just some of my story, there is still Craig's story and my mom's story. I can say this, Joshua was amazing, he was really strong and showed just how strong his faith is, he knew that his mom was ok and knew all would be fine. What a blessing he has been. Thank you to all of you for your prayers. But most of all I thank God that he did this for me, I often think on what happened and am truly in awe of God's power and that he cares for me (and you) so much that he would do this not only for me but for any of his children. What an awsome God we serve.

I have learnt that we need to live our lives in readyness to be with God at any momment because we do not know what the next few momments will bring. Even if I had gone to be with God at that momment I know where I was heading TO THE ARMS OF MY HEAVENLY FARTHER, do you know where you are heading?

History of the Van Wyk Family Name

This surname was introduced to South Africa in 1676 by one Willem van Wy(c)k, son of Arien Gerriks van Wyck and a native of the Dutch village of Ingen. On 5 August 1685, he was married to Catharina Hillebrandt, with whom he was to have tow children. Arie van Wyk, thought to have been the brother of Willem, followed him in the Cape and became a citizen of Stellenbosch. He was wed in 1693 to Cornelia Helm, the widow of Johannes van der Bosch. From the union of Arie and Cornelia there issued nine children. The surname van Wyk originated as a toponymic name, reflecting an associateion of the initial bearer with a place of habitation, such as a town or village. Here, the inspiration for the name appears to have come from the town of Wijk-by-Duurstede, which is located south of Amersfoort in the Netehrlands province of Utrecht. This town, which sits at the pint where the Kromme Fijn and Cek rivers diverge, is home to the "castle of Duurstede", the ancient seat of the archbishipric of Utrecht. The site of the town has been contunously occupied since Roman times, when it was known as "Batavodurum", and in the Carolingian era, "Darestadum", as it was then called, was an important entrepat for trade between the Frankish realm and the Vikings.
A toponymic surname would often result from the circumstances of an individual migrating from one settlement to another, where the residents might refer to the newcomer by the name of his former home. In Holland, a family of the nobility or gentry would frequently adopt as a surname the name of a town where a family member owned an estate or enjoyed feudal privileges. The arms are designed by South African families named van Wyk, and were based upon those fo a van Wyck family of Amsterdam.
